A common mistake that I see first-time homebuyers make is that they think they have to go find the property first and then figure out all the other pieces next. That's actually the absolute opposite of what you should be doing.

The first thing that you should do is find yourself a local experienced guide, which is going to be your realtor. Then, do your research just like you research everything else that you purchase or services that you need. Do your research and find a great realtor in your area.

Ask your friends, ask your neighbors, check out reviews online, and really thoroughly check that person out because your realtor is your guide through the whole process from the beginning to the end and they're going to be able to help you find the next piece that you'll need which will be your lender.

They will help you find a great, local lender that can help you, who will stay with you from the beginning, when you find that property and will be there all the way through closing and do a great job for you.

So, don't make the mistake of looking for the house, look for the guide which is your local realtor.
