“So there's many different varieties of home warranty companies out there. So what makes your company Home Warranty stand out more than the rest?”

“It's a really good question. So what I really like about Home Warranty is that we are a family-operated and founded company. Just like this brokerage right here, it's independent, it's homey. I have the ability to work with my colleagues on a personal level to help them and help facilitate the process with my clients. So I really transition that in how I do my business to make them feel like they are an extended part of my family. So on top of that, we're the only company that offers 14 months of coverage for the first agreement period, regardless of a specific lender or a home inspector, and that we also have live call answering in the U.S. It's very common for home warranty companies to source their customer service overseas. And it's no disrespect to other countries, but when you're working with a problem, most of the time somebody wants to be able to have that same language as you do, to be able to translate information and get the process rolling to get back to normal. So that's huge. We have an A-plus rating with the BBB, and that's very hard as a home warranty company, or even an insurance company for that matter, to maintain. So we've had that for many years. We're an established company.”

“I was a former appliance repair tech, several years of experience. So we actually go to the shop back in Iowa where we're headquartered and learn about the HVAC system. So it's not that I'm just sitting here selling a product that I have no idea what I'm talking about. It's things that I know and I can learn from because I've seen it in person, and I've had conversations with technicians themselves. And then really what it boils down to is who you work with. Who you work with matters. So I bought my first rental property eight years ago, and within the first year I had to replace a water heater, I had to replace a compressor on an HVAC, and I thought, oh my goodness, I just lost all my profit for the whole year. And so I didn't even know that this was an option. So I think having somebody that's in your corner that's had to go down the hard road of learning the hard way and paying the full bill makes it that much better because I can help them save money down the road by showing and explaining my personal experiences.”
