I could make a dozen posts on what not to do when selling your home, but I’ll just give you one piece of advice that I think is really important.

A lot of sellers think that they want to be helpful and stay during the showings, and that’s a really big no in my opinion.

Buyers are not comfortable when they are walking through your house and you’re walking behind them.

They don’t want to open up your closets because they feel like they’re intruding into your space, so they’re going to be very reserved.

I have seen it so many times where a seller insists on staying during the showing and a buyer is just obviously very reserved.

My advice for this would be to hire a great real estate professional so that you know that your house is in good hands and then whenever the house is being shown, make sure that you are able to get away and not be present.

Now, the agent that’s working with that buyer and going through your house, they can now go through and be comfortable to really look at your house and not feel like they’re intruding on your space.
